Set in the vibrant blue dot of a familiar red state, Touching is a tender, unapologetic exploration of pleasure through the lens of trans and nonbinary experience, created by emerging writer Maya Antoinette Riley. From the sensual to the romantic to the beautifully mundane, Touching dares to reclaim what has too often been shamed: the simple, natural joy of being fully oneself. In a culture that deems queer desire deviant and trans embodiment disruptive, this exciting new work uplifts radical self-love, healing, and truth-telling.
Part meditation, part celebration, this ode to queer pleasure is presented as a staged reading with actors performing from scripts and minimal production elements, offering an intimate experience that invites a raw, immediate connection with the text.
Please note: this staged reading includes mature themes, sexual content, and adult language.
