The team at Woven Theatre is taking over the dancefloor at Play Dance Bar for a vibrant, hilarious, fantastical new play from writer River Timms (The Naughty Tree). After a gnarly gay breakup, broke millennial Erik brings home a new strain of weed called “Magical Journey” to share with his friend Sammy. Under the influence of the rare herb, the two stoners are unintentionally transported to a fantasy kingdom called Winterberry where they must take up a quest to defeat the Wizard King, as foretold by prophecy, before they can make their way back home. This over-the-top comedy blends dazzling magic, rock music, dragons, and, of course, sword fights to tell a story of unabashed queer joy and the magical power within waiting to be unleashed – all playing out at one of Nashville’s most iconic LGBTQIA+ venues.
