Imperfections
Kindling Arts embraced the beauty of imperfections at the 2024 Festival, featuring two dozen captivating performances. Highlights included an immersive 1970s dance-theatre soiree, a hilarious monster-versus-audience sporting competition, and a dynamic celebration of girlhood by teen songwriters and professional choreographers. Audiences enjoyed a live taping of a 90s sitcom with interactive storylines, a high-flying circus journey through TV Land, a heartwarming comedy about faith and self-acceptance, a hilarious exploration of self-humiliation, an ethereal all-Black neo-burlesque production, and groundbreaking performance art that defied classification.

Counterculture
Kindling Arts served up a bold dose of counterculture at the 2023 Festival, showcasing 17 wildly unique performance projects. Highlights included a futuristic space opera with nu-metal karaoke and fight choreography, a musical comedy about Nashville’s most infamous social media page, an interactive late-night party reimagining county fair activities, and a variety of innovative new dance works — and that was just the beginning!

Kindling Arts Festival
Kindling Arts Festival returned bigger than ever, showcasing over a dozen projects by Nashville artists. The 4-day event featured contemporary dance, new plays, immersive experiences, and intimate concerts inside a projection dome.

In its second year, Kindling Arts Festival stayed true to its mission of empowering diverse local performers to take bold creative risks. The 4-day lineup featured adventurous works—from abstract performance art to a showcase of emerging female choreographers—spanning dance, theatre, circus, immersive experiences, and hybrid forms.
